There are about a 1000 species out of more than 35000 species of spiders found in South Africa.  Spiders are attracted to warm, dark small spaces, corners, cracks, air vents and eaves.  They are a nuisance in the home.  Other spiders prefer the outdoors, weaving their webs in the garden, on the side of the garage doors or by your light fittings.  Spiders in South Africa are not just a nuisance because of their webbing, they have been known to bite.
